Closing message from the Championship Director, Lt Cdr Rob Taylor.

The first Championship to be held in Tignes has come to a close and we can rightly look back on a successful event. Significant numbers of service and civilian personnel have undertaken instruction and racing and there have been a number of noteworthy achievements throughout the 2 week event.

As most people will be aware this was the first year in Tignes and the first year with our Tour Operator partner, Event Travel Company (ETC). Other changes this year included our equipment provider (Favre Sports) and instructor provider (Evolution 2). When one considers the potential impact of these changes, the move from Les Menuires has been remarkably smooth. Inevitably there were a few teething troubles and I thank everyone for their patience. My team and I are determined to make the whole experience as seamless, fulfilling and challenging as possible, and we can only achieve this by solving the issues we have been made aware of. I encourage everyone that attended the event to provide constructive feedback, both good and bad.

Thank you to the team that made the event a success, our partners in ETC, Evolution 2, Favre Sports and every member of the ski and snowboard team, it really would not have happened had it not been for their hard work and dedication.

We therefore look forward to 2011 and beyond as we continue to develop the partnerships established this year. The prime focus for next years event will be maximising attendance, and to that end I encourage all to look ahead and try their best to be there. I am aware that commitments make this difficult and I will do my best to get value for money for everyone.
