Guide to Booking The Alpine Championships

Everything you wanted to know about the Alpine Champs but were afraid to ask.

This is to enable people to book either individually or as a group member or leader.

Booking individually

1. Decide which week you have free, or can get off. We have instruction in both weeks for all abilities. As far as racing is concerned there are only a few races in the first week (including beginners and novices), while the second week is the main race week and has a full programme for all standards.

2. Have a look at the programme (available on the rnwsa.co.uk website) and decide what instruction and racing you would like to do. In order to claim CILOR and duty travel (discussed later) you must take part in at least 3 days of official activity (to include at least 1 race), or complete the beginners package (4 days of instruction and the beginners race). Plan your week around what instruction and racing you would like to achieve. The descriptions for all races are on the website, as are the descriptions of instructional levels.

3. Go to the booking site and fill in the details on line as follows:
Page 1 – Personal details. This includes name, service number, unit, email address etc. It also includes the standard of instruction or racing you are at. If you are not sure the info button next to each choice give you further information.

Page 2 – the trip. This includes booking flights, accommodation, Please look carefully when booking these on the info buttons.

Page 3 – activities. This will enable you to pre-book things like racing and instruction. This is important – it will save you money and allows you to spend more time on the slopes or in the bars and restaurants, rather than booking what you want in the race office.

Group bookings

There are a number of methods to achieve this. If the group leader is going as well, ensure they book their trip first and provide a group name on the first page of the booking site. Further members of the group can then add their names to the group when they book, thus ensuring they are co-located. The standard of accommodation needs to be the same for all members of the group to ensure this happens. Different members of the same group can book different instruction and racing if they wish. They can also travel by different methods if they wish. The group leader will have access to all of their group on the website to ensure individuals have booked correctly and paid.

If you have any doubt as to what to do please contact ETC direct and they will assist you.
